Long or multi-elbow runs in two-story inland homes take longer.

Duct length and the number of turns matter most. A short straight run out a side wall in a 1950s Clairemont ranch is quick work. A second-floor laundry in an 1980s-2000s tract house, a crushed or disconnected section behind drywall, or a condo run that travels through a shared chase downtown all add time and sometimes parts. We look at it first and tell you what it will be before we touch anything.

Is a vent that exits through the roof a bigger job?

Usually yes. Roof terminations mean ladder work and a longer vertical run, and lint that falls back down the pipe tends to pack at the bottom. Older bungalows near North Park and downtown sometimes have roof caps that were never meant for dryer exhaust. We handle those, and we'll tell you if the cap itself needs replacing.
